A Celtic-inspired lion pendant in sterling silver
Our intricate Celtic-inspired lion pendant is hand cast in sterling silver. The pendant measures just over 1.5 inches tall and comes with a sterling chain in 18, 20, 22 or 24 inches.
While not native to Scotland, the lion has long stood for courage, royalty, strength and valor. In fact, the Royal Banner of the Royal Arms of Scotland features a central Lion rampant (Old French for “rearing up”). The banner dates from at least the 13th century, when it was used by Alexander II in 1222. Since 1603, the Lion rampant of Scotland has been part of both the royal arms and royal banners of successive Scottish then British monarchs to represent the Scottish people.
