Dragonfly Enamel & Sterling Pin

Designed by Grete Prytz Kittelsen for Jacob Tostrup of Norway, this delicate dragonfly pin is hand cast in sterling silver with blue enamel. Several variations of this pin are known to exist, each in several different variations of enamel. The pin is fully hallmarked “Sterling, J Torstrup Norway” and measures 1.5 inches across.

Jacob Ulrich Holfeldt Tostrup was a Norwegian goldsmith throughout the 19th century. One of the country’s best-known artisans, his foundry J. Torstrup was influential for more than 150 years, helping to define Scandinavian style in both craft and fine art.
