Shield-over-sword kilt pin by Robert Allison
Out of stock
A classic design by a Scottish master, this shield-over-sword kilt pin measures 3.25 inches tall. It is fully hallmarked by Robert Allison — Glasgow in 1957. A heavy, sturdy example of some of Allison’s best work.
Renowned Scottish silversmith Robert Allison opened his first smithy in the Gorbals area of Glasgow just before World War I. Heavily influenced by the iconic Iona design style of Alexander Ritchie, Allison soon made a name for himself by incorporating geometry and other Mid-Century standards into his work. Today his silver works are among the most prized by collectors of 20th century Scottish sterling.
