Traditional Celtic Claddagh dangle earrings in sterling silver
A classic Celtic design. These delicate dangle earrings feature the traditional Claddagh and measure just over 0.75 inch tall. Sterling silver with sterling silver hooks.
A traditional Irish design, the Claddagh is thought to originate from the small fishing village of Claddagh in Galway. Although examples from the early 1700s have been found, they design was not named as such until at least 1830. The classic Claddagh features three elements: two clasped hands (friendship), a heart (true love) and a crown (loyalty). Some designs omit the crown altogether. While Claddagh rings are sometimes used as signs of friendship, they are most often used as engagement or wedding rings.
