With our May schedule (and Mother’s Day) just around the corner, the sounds of Scotland fill the air with Highland games and some of our other favorite events across the Southeast.
The month kicks off with the Savannah Scottish Games at the historic (and stunning) Bethesda Academy on the oak-shrouded outskirts of town. For a smaller, one-day event, it features everything you could ever want at a games. There’s Scottish food, dance and piping competitions, the athletics field, local music and — of course — amazing Celtic shopping. Plus, it’s a weekend in Savannah — perfect for an advance Mother’s Day celebration.
If Savannah isn’t on your route, do yourself a favor and visit the Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival. Settling into its new digs in Townsend, Tennessee, the event is one of the best up-and-coming games on our schedule. Wide open mountain vistas surround the new park, and this year we will be hosting one of our largest tents of the year.
Of course, if you’d like to see us in person (or need any help at all with Mother’s Day shopping), just let us know. Check out our calendar to find out when we’ll be in your area. If we’re not near you with our May schedule, just send us a note. We’ll figure out a way to get you whatever you may need.
The Summer months promise to be a bit quieter for us (a much-needed break). We still add new events, so stay on top of our schedule and latest items on Facebook and Instagram. You’ll always be one of the first to know!
