Sunday Market Preview: April 2024

Sunday Market Preview: April 2024

We hope Spring has been treating you well! The southern Highland Games season is in full swing, and in the coming months we’ll be moving north to Georgia, Tennessee, and beyond. Before we do, we want to give you a preview of some of the treasures we have collected in time for Mother’s Day. If you’re a Sunday Market regular, it’s easy — just stop by on Sunday at 7pm EST over on Facebook Live. The Market this month should only take about an hour, just enough time to give you the best of the best.

The special subscriber’s preview below offers an exclusive a sneak peek at our favorites. This month we are focusing on three special collections: show-stopping gold rings, rare Victorian Scottish pieces, and Jeff’s hand-set opal jewelry — plus a few surprises (see below!). If you see something you love below, you’ve got first dibs as a newsletter subscriber. Simply drop us a line via Messenger or email and let us know. If it’s still up for grabs, we can make sure you’ve got it in the bag.

New to the Sunday Market?

If you’re new to our (four or five times per year) Sunday Market, you’re in for a treat. Simply log into Facebook just before 7 pm on Sunday, April 28. Check into the Event page and in a few minutes you’ll be joined by Bill (on camera), Jeff (on the keyboard), Simon (on the floor) and so many of our favorite family and friends.

It’s a live event, so Bill will show off some of our favorite new treasures, and if you see something you like, just drop a Comment into the event and Jeff will set it aside for you. We love comments, questions and more. . . we just love hearing from everyone.

You can also check out the video post on Facebook after the event. If something you like it still available, it’s yours.

Best of all, everything will ship to be in your hands in time for Mother’s Day.

If you’d like a first look at upcoming Sunday Markets, you can sign up for the County Argyle preview email and newsletter. If you haven’t yet, you can subscribe right here on our website (the form is at the bottom of this page — super easy).

Hope to see you all there and our best wishes to all our favorite Moms!

Vintage Gold Cocktail Rings

Earlier this Spring we spent a weekend sorting and cataloging a huge estate of high-end antique gold jewelry. We were lucky enough to secure a dozen or so pieces — mostly rings plus a stunning opal cuff. As you can tell from the gallery, the owner had excellent taste and a top-tier jeweler.

Each of these are one and only one. So, if you need more details (size, price, etc.) ahead of the Live event, just let Jeff know. He can answer any questions and, if needed, set it aside for you before the Market begins.

There will be a few extra surprises, so if you don’t see exactly what you had in mind, never worry.

Victorian-Era Kilt Pins & Bracelets

One of our dedicated buyers returned on Monday from a two-week market tour of Scotland. He uncovered some of the most amazing kilt pins we’ve had the pleasure of collecting. Crowns, bows, arrows, ferns, shields, and more — he found us one of everything.

If you see something you like, let Jeff know in advance of Sunday, if possible. Our antique and Victorian-Era kilt pins tend to go quickly, so a word to us will keep your favorite on hold until you’ve learned more about it..

Exclusive Opal Sets

While we are known for our opal collections, it’s been a few years since Jeff has set many black opals. We could find the raw stones, but the quality just wasn’t there.

Earlier this year, we secured a new stone broker who has blown us away. The stones — especially the black opals — are breathtaking. Jeff has spent the past few months collecting and setting opals in several colors, just in time for Mother’s Day.

If you are looking for a specific piece — ring, necklace, pendant, bracelet, or earrings — let us know. We’ll be showing off a few of our favorites on Sunday, but these are just the surface of what we have on hand.

A Few Surprises!

Following a string of Highland Games and Spring events across Florida and Georgia, we’ve had some time to do a little digging as we traveled. We have come up with several extras for Sunday’s event: museum-calibre Native American, stunning Danish modern, and more.

We’re previewing a few of the best here, but you’ll have to watch to see more. On a side note, if you have an interest in Native American jewelry, reach out to Jeff. He will give you an extended preview of what we have in our collection.
