The Ceasg

Also known as maighdean na tuinne (“the maid of the waves”), the ceasg is a mermaid in old Scottish folktales. Featuring the upper body of a young woman and the tail of a grilse (salmon), the ceasg could be found in any moving body of water. To someone crafty enough to catch her, she would grant three wishes.
