The term “Scotland” is thought to originate from Scoti, a racially derogatory term used by the Romans to describe the Gaelic-speaking pirates who raided the British Isles in the 3rd and 4th centuries. The later Latin word Scotia (or “land of the Scoti”) was initially used to indicate Ireland, but by the 11th century, the name instead referred to the Kingdom of Alba found north of the river Forth. Use of the term Scotland to refer to all of what is now Scotland became common in the Late Middle Ages.
Due to the nature of the soft cotton material, shirt measurements may vary up to one inch.
