The Viking Longboat Sterling Pin is an original from the artisans of Copenhagen’s Anton Michelsen Studios. Originally designed in the first half of the twentieth century, this sterling silver Viking longboat pin is one of the master studio’s best-known designs. Fully hallmarked by the original team, it is a Norse classic. The pin measures 1.35 inches across and weighs 8 grams. A rare Viking treasure.
Anton Michelsen was born 1809 in Copenhagen and completed a goldsmith’s apprenticeship in Odense. He established his own smithy in Copenhagen 1841, where he soonwon the attention of the royal family. Michelsen’s son Carl continued the company when his father died in 1877.
